Bebington Charter night !

A great night at Bebington charter ! My first charter as DG The handover of presidents was completed as President Ron was welcomed in for his year !  The town crier of Liverpool was the guest speaker and he told some amusing tales of his role ! An excellent turn out of Rotarians from across the district. One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of a community award to a charity called new Beginnings which was set up to help those affected by the New Ferry Gas explosion last year. What inspirational people they were. Thank you Bebington for a wonderful evening

Llangollen International musical Eisteddfod 

What a day this was !! After meeting up with Ollie the polio bear and some Rotarians We went for Lunch with the RC Llangollen. We were accompanied by our special guests RIBI president and her husband Michael. A lovely Lunch and Terry Waite CBE President of the Eisteddfod addressed those present. 

After lunch we watched some of the superb entertainment in the main areana and mixed with some of the competitors fom around the world. It was a most colourful and musical day !  The extreme heat meant a sit down and some rest for an hour before the main event in the evening when we attended a International concert. Superb entertainment and my favourite the 120 strong choir from South Africa that quite simply blew us away !!

I then had the great pleasure of presenting the Rotary International peace prize live on TV !!   Dr Waseem Aria was the winner of the International prize and Sara Rowbotham won the national prize. A seperrate entry will cover this but what a great honour to be able to meet Dr Waseem. Sara was unable to attend but i hope to be able to meet her very soon.
